It means "I hate". The NT was recorded in Greek because God was bringing the "Light" to the Gentiles. The word recorded in Luke 14:26 is μισέω and it doesn't mean "I hate less" either; it means "I find detestable". You are just trying to find some way to make your god-who-loves-everyone fit the God of the Bible.<br /><br />And regardless, the ones God hates, however you define it, He created to end up in Hell.
